Hey lovelies! L’Oreal recently added the L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine Lipstick to their already vast range of lip products. I am a big fan of L’Oreal as a brand and their lipsticks. The L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Glosses are one of my favorites. When I first saw the L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine Lipsticks, I was floored by the packaging.

L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine Lipstick is available in 16 shades. There is a mix of nudes, pinks, purples, berry and red shades. All the shades are wearable on a daily basis.
The packaging is absolutely beautiful. The L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine lipstick comes in an acrylic clear plastic tube. The cuts and the design gives the look of a crystal. When light hits, it shines. I wish I was able to capture that shiny picture. 🙂
The formula of these lipsticks is very creamy and smooth. It glides on the lips like butter. The texture is emollient and feels light weight. It gives a nice shiny glossy finish to the lips, without compromising on color. It is very similar to my YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks. The consistency feels like it melts when we apply the lipstick. Apparently, due to the 60% more oils in the formula. It is a very hydrating lipstick and also does not migrate or feather out on the lips.
Even though these are glossy and shiny lipsticks, the pigmentation is good. However, the glossiness fades in a couple of hours. But the color remains true. It gives sheer to medium coverage, but also depends on the shade. If we need some intense color we can use a lip liner. I also want to mention that it does not have the regular L’Oreal scent to these lipsticks. However, there is a faint sweet fruity scent but no obvious taste to the lipstick.
904 Varnished Rosewood – A pretty rosy pinky nude with a hint of brown. I love these kind of rosy shades because it looks better on my medium skin tone.
926 Glassy Garnet – Glassy Garnet is a darker berry with some warm undertone. It looks reddish maroon in the tube but in the swatch you can see it is a berry shade with a hint of red.
930 Splendid Blackberry – This shade looked the unique one and the darkest in this collection. It is a dark berry purple. I wanted to try one darker shade to see how it performs and this one applies a little patchy. But we can make it work. This is a perfect shade for fall and winter. Besides it makes our lips look fuller. 🙂
Overall, I really love the new L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine Lipstick . These are definitely comparable to some luxury brand lipsticks that I own. The lasting power is approximately 4-5 hours, however the shine disappears in a couple of hour of wear. But the color is still strong on the lips. We have to re-apply through out the day which I don’t mind. The darker shade Splendid Blackberry lasts longer and leaves a faint stain behind. But it also emphasized the texture on my lips, when I had not exfoliated my lips. However, the lighter shade works perfectly fine.
The L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine lipsticks are lipsticks, gloss and lip balm all in one. I love these a lot and will definitely be getting a few more shades. If you want a change from the drying mattes and liquid lipsticks, I highly recommend this lipstick. But, if you prefer matte, comfortable matte lipsticks, you can check the L’Oreal Infallible 10hr wear lipsticks and if you are in Asia the L’Oreal Rouge Magique lipsticks are great and affordable options. The L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine lipsticks are available at the drugstore. L’Oreal Website says to buy from Amazon. I purchased mine from Amazon. It’s been ages since I treated myself to a new lipstick and I do like the look of the Varnished Rosewood shade (the others aren’t really for me). And how great that L’Oreal is doing these as a lipstick, gloss and balm all in one, that’s such a good idea. TIme to go shopping, I think! xx
