Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Review

Hi! I am back with Laneige again. But, today I have the Laneige lip sleeping mask to talk about. Have you tried it yet? I purchased the Laneige lip sleeping mask set during my duty free shopping. I had this lip mask in mind for the past two years. Since I love the Laneige Water sleeping mask and the Laneige firming sleeping mask, I was eager to try this popular lip sleeping mask, which is also the 2018 Glamour Beauty Award Winner.

When it comes to masks be it face mask, hair mask and now even lip masks, I love trying them. I not only try, but also use up all the product. Yay! for that. Time and again the Korean skincare brands have always amazed me. Laneige is one of them. Most of the Korean skincare brands focus on keeping the skin well hydrated. And Laneige’s concept for skincare is Water Science. So here are my thoughts about the Laneige lip sleeping mask.

Product details – Lip Sleeping Mask has a softening balm texture that closely adheres to the lips for quick absorption.

Enriched with Vitamin C and antioxidants, its Berry Mix Complex (TM) offers a nutriously sweet and fragrant blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry and blueberry extracts to indulge the senses.

Exclusive Moisture Wrap technology boasts hyaluronic acid and minerals to form a protective film over the lips to lock in moisture and active ingredients. A generous layer of this soothing mask at bedtime helps reduce flakiness so you can wake up to lips that feel refreshed, supple, and soft to the touch.

The Laneige lip sleeping mask is similar to the face sleeping masks that are on trend these days but, for the lips. It works by melting away dead skin cells while you are asleep. It is currently available in four variants/flavors – berry, vanilla, grapefruit and apple lime, (ummmm I love all these flavors in a lip balm.) However, the most popular one is the berry one that comes in a pink jar. The formula of all the flavors is the same, but the scent of course is different. And the color of the packaging is also different according to the flavor. You can see in the pictures.

I have to use lip balms every single day. Because, if I don’t use a lip balm my lips tend to get dry, feel painful and start peeling. I guess, since I use them regularly my lips get used to the lip balm and eventually they stop working for me. So, I keep changing. I love the Sugar lip balms and the Milani lip treatment which I use once or twice a week. It helps to hydrate my lips and works well. Since I am already running low on them, I am glad I got the Laneige lip sleeping mask.

The packaging of the Laneige lip sleeping mask is a simple and pretty pink, frosted little jar. The color of the packaging differs with the flavor. This has a matte texture to the tub – very similar to the Laneige water sleeping mask. The quality is good and feels expensive. It also comes with a tiny spatula. The size of the spatula provides perfect indication to how much product you should use. However, you will need half the amount that we scoop using the spatula. Besides it is very travel friendly.

The Laneige lip sleeping mask uses Laneige’s exclusive Moisture Wrap technology that forms a protective barrier around your lips. It locks in moisture and active ingredients present in this lip mask. Hyaluronic acid helps to store in moisture for the softening and smoothing of the lips. The berry mix complex consists of eight types of berries that absorbs instantly and nourishes the lips. The Vitamin C and several other antioxidants along with Shea butter helps to nourish and rejuvenate the dry skin.

The texture and consistency of this lip mask is like melted wax. In the tub it looks like a standard lip balm. However, when you start scooping out the product it is very soft. It is waxy but not hard or sticky. When it comes in contact with the warmth of my fingers, it instantly melts and feels like a mixture of water and oil.

The application is easy. I scoop a tiny amount and apply to my lips before going to bed. However, I also use it as a regular lip balm, during the day time. As a mask – I use a generous amount enough to cover my lips and apply just before going to bed. I leave it on overnight, and wipe it off in the morning. As a lip balm – I use teeny tiny amount on my lips (less than I use at night). And it works well as a lip balm during the day time.

I have been using the Laneige lip sleeping mask every day for a couple of weeks and I am very happy with the results. My lips are not flaky and feel very moisturized ready to wear matte lipstick. I like that even though this mask is rich and thick, it does not feel sticky, greasy, slippery or heavy on the lips. But feels comfortable, hydrating and light weight. I now see why it is so popular and loved by everyone. You can also use it to prepare your lips to wear a matte lipstick.

The Laneige lip sleeping mask is a must try. It has made my lips soft and smooth. I don’t feel the need to keep picking at the skin on my lips. I know bad habit! Even when I am lazy and don’t use the mask everyday, my lips still feel good and are not drying. However, I can go without a lip balm only a day or so. The product stays well on the lips, while sleeping. Oh! and it smells amazing.

Overall, I am really loving this lip mask and have added to my regular skincare stash. You know there are some products that you need backups and this is one of them for me. And as you can see I have four jars to use and this will last me a couple years. 🙂 Have you tried the Laneige lip sleeping mask? What do you think of sleeping masks in general? Let me know. 🙂

Until next time stay bright and beautiful my friends! And wishing all moms Happy Mother’s Day 🙂
