Hi! Today, I have DIOR Backstage face and body powder no powder to talk about. Having oily skin I am always on the look out for a good powder foundation. Don’t get me wrong I love liquid foundations and BB/CC Creams as well, but they are most of the time used occasionally. But, I use powder foundation on a daily basis. Quick and easy. Especially because I have oily skin and I live in hot and humid climate and my skin gets oilier later in the day. When I saw DIOR Backstage face and body powder no powder, I wanted to see how it performed. Besides, I also got the right shade.

Face & Body Powder-No-Powder helps create an even, naturally matte and luminous complexion that lasts all day long, with no powdery finish. Packaging

DIOR backstage face and body powder comes in a clear acrylic case with silver DIOR logo. It is similar to the regular Dior backstage line packaging. However, it is quite sturdy and good. The only thing missing in the packaging is the mirror. It would have been great for touch ups. The powder is pressed with oblique DIOR pattern, which looks pretty. But, eventually the Dior embossing wears out after a couple use. It is available in 10 shades, 0N to 9N, but all of them have neutral undertones. The shade range is quite vast and since it is sheer, I guess the undertone does not really matter.

The Formula, Texture & Finish

DIOR backstage face and body powder no powder is finely milled and feels silky smooth to touch. When we look at it closely it has a creamy gel like luminous sheen to it. But, it is not gel like at all. It provides a natural luminous matte finish to the skin. It provides light to medium coverage while effectively blurring the pores and texture of the skin. The powder is very light weight and does not feel heavy or powdery after a couple of application.

Application

First of all I want to mention that is is difficult to pick up the product with a regular powder brush. I have to swirl the brush a couple times to actually pick up some product on the brush. So I apply the DIOR backstage face and body powder no powder with my kabuki brush. I swirl my brush around the compact and swipe it all over my face. To cover the imperfections like some redness on my nose, dark areas around my eyes and some pigmentation on my cheeks, I do this process a couple times, until I get medium coverage. And it works like a charm.

This powder is so light weight that even with several layers of application, it does not look cakey or too matte. It sinks into my skin, giving a nice dewy finish. It is also super-smoothing without making my skin look oily. Even with one layer, it makes my complexion look natural yet flawless. It can work best as natural looking makeup for men, where it will help improve the look of imperfections perfectly and discreetly.

Performance

DIOR backstage face and body powder no powder performs well throughout the day. I use it do my touch ups without worrying that it will look cakey. With it’s subtle skin perfecting action, it is like my skin but better. However, later in the day when my skin gets super oily around my nose, forehead and chin, I still like to blot the oil with blotting paper, before re-applying the powder. I don’t like to touch my brush to the oils on my face. And it makes my makeup look fresh and perfect.

Overall, I just love this powder and I am so glad at myself that I got it to try. I was in two minds as it is a pricey powder. I like that it does not settle into fine lines, does not look powdery or cakey even with several layers of application. It is great that it covers the darkness around my eyes to some extent. I can apply it without liquid foundation or use it on its own or over a primer. Basically, it ticks all the boxes for me. It also gives me the freedom to get ready in no time. The only negative point I can think of is that I may hit pan earlier than expected. It is a fabulous powder, if you prefer light to medium coverage makeup. It is also great for those who don’t like wearing too much base makeup. As mentioned by the brand it is great for men as well.
