Dior Backstage Rosewood Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hi! It’s been a while I posted anything about eyeshadows. Today, I have the newest addition to my eyeshadow collection, the Dior Backstage Rosewood Neutrals Eyeshadow palette to share. This is the first makeup item, I got from the backstage line by Dior. I love their 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow palettes. They are one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes.

Product Description – Dior Backstage Eye Palette is the Dior makeup artists’ secret weapon to create an array of pro eye looks, from the most natural to the most defined. Inspired by the energy backstage at the runway shows and makeup artist essentials, the Dior Backstage Eye Palette includes shades that suit all skin tones in buildable matte and iridescent textures for perfect eyes.

Dior Backstage

The Dior Backstage range, is a sub-branch launched in June 2018. This makeup range was products used by professionals and makeup artists, by the Dior behind the scene shows. But you definitely don’t have to be an expert to use this range. It is a fairly simple range to enhance your appearance. I like that it is now available for ladies who want a professional look. This range is also imagined and created by the Creative director, Peter Phillips for Dior makeup.

The packaging of the Dior Backstage Rosewood Neutrals eyeshadow palette is different from their regular 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palettes. It has a different look with a simple transparent lid. But the quality of the packaging is great. I like that we can see the palette but I miss the regular luxe packaging of Dior, that I am used to. There is no mirror in this palette, which I actually miss. However, the whole look of the packaging has a youthful feel and lower price point than Dior’s main line.

The Dior backstage rosewood neutrals eyeshadow palette is a beautiful rosy tone palette. It is similar in tone to the Dior backstage rosewood lip palette. The shades complement each other perfectly. In short I loved the color story of this palette.

In the nine pan palette is a mix of mattes, shimmers, highlighter and a primer. The formula of all the shadows are super silky and smooth.

Primer – Every Dior backstage eyeshadow palette comes with a primer. It comes in handy especially while travelling. However, I would probably prefer an eyeshadow in that space. But, it is a smooth primer and helps to keep shadows in place without creasing. I also want to mention that the shade is light sandy beige color which may be a bit too light for medium to deep skin tones. But the primer works to enhance the shades in the palette.

Matte Nude – The first shadow in the top middle row is a light beige shade that is great as base color.

Bronze – The color bronze is more of a golden shade in the swatches. However, it looks bronzy in the palette. It is a smooth powder with some very fine glitters. It will look beautiful in the center of the eyes and inner corner highlight.

Metal Magenta – This is the only shadow in the palette without the Dior imprint. It is a beautiful reddish magenta shade with some hint of pink in the light and has a metallic finish. It is my favorite shade in the palette. This shade is more intense when I swipe it with my fingers than using a brush.

Matte Rose – A beautiful dreamy rosy pink shade in matte finish. It is more of a muted rose color which look absolutely beautiful as a wash of color all over the eyes for simple everyday looks.

Matte Wood – Matte wood is a cool tone medium brown shade. It is definitely not matte as when we take a closer look it has some golden sheen to it. The golden shimmer gives some warmth to the shade. This shade works best as eyeliner.

Shimmer Burgundy – Burgundy is the only shimmer mentioned at the back of the palette. But it is more like deep purple pink with some warm brown. It is not too shimmery, but similar to the mattes with some sheen. It is a fun color to play with.

Matte Dark Plum – Again the name says matte but actually the mattes in this palette are not that matte. They are more like satin matte. There is some luminous sheen to the dark plum shade as well. It is a beautiful deeper purple with a hint of brown. Great to smoke out lash line. It gives a nice definition to the eyes without looking too harsh.

Matte Purple Brown – It is a perfect purplish brown shade but with some luminous finish. It has some warmth to it, which does not make it muddy. The warm undertone gives it a dark bronzy brown tone.

Overall, it is a beautiful palette if you are into rose purple and burgundy eye looks, you will love it. The eyeshadows are extremely soft and smooth. Great to create some neutral as well as glamorous smoky looks for the evening. They blend well and I highly recommend. It is available at the Dior Store and on Dior Website.
