My Top Six Favorite Drugstore Blushes

Hello my gorgeous friends! Today I have a slightly different post, where I talk about my top six favorite drugstore blushes. Blushes are one of the important makeup item that have a permanent place in our makeup drawer. Earlier I never cared much about blushes, but slowly they became and important part in my makeup routine. Even now blushes are just a light wash of color for me. As lipsticks brighten the whole face, so do blushes. Blushes instantly transform the whole face, by giving some color and radiance. It also helps to wake up dull and tired face. I absolutely love blushes, and have a few favorite drugstore blushes.

I have tried many blushes, high end as well as drugstore. Some I like, while some I love and the ones that I dislike, don’t make it to my blog. Haha! :-). But, today I my top six favorite drugstore blushes to share. The main characteristics that I considered while choosing these blushes are –

Elf Studio Blush Palette in the shade Dark – This palette by Elf features four blushes that are very pigmented and great quality. The light version also has some beautiful shades in the palette. The formula of these blushes is very silky smooth. There are four blushes in the palette of which three are matte and one has a slight sheen. We can use all the shades individually as well as you can mix and match to create a custom shade you like. You can never go wrong with this $5 palette, however you need to be careful as these are very pigmented. Besides ELF is a cruelty free beauty brand, which I like. You can purchase both the light and dark versions from Amazon.

Maybelline Master Blush Color and Highlight Kit – This blush palette by Maybelline features three distinctly different shades of blushes and one highlighter. The shade selection in this palette is very versatile. The pigmentation is great as well as the formula feels very soft and smooth. The blushes in this palette blend easily and seamlessly. The highlighter is a very natural looking one, which is also buildable. All the blushes are matte finish, however, the darker one has some sheen to it. Overall, a must try blush palette. Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush – The look of the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush makes me very happy. I love the pink, shiny and glossy packaging even though it is a little bulky. The formula is smooth and has a slight satin finish. I love that there are different shades of pink in the form of little hearts. This looks natural and gives a soft luminous look to the cheeks. I purchased this blush from Amazon.

J Cat Beauty Love Struck Blusher –  J Cat Beauty is an online brand with great quality makeup that is cruelty free. The brand markets this blush as J Cat Beauty Love Stuck Blusher and Bronzer. This blush has intense pigmentation and the formula is also very creamy and smooth. There is an overlay of slight sheen spray on the cat embossing but that is gone in one swipe. This blush is available in twelve gorgeous shades from bright pinks to muted rosy pinks, peach and corals. This blush is available on Amazon.

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher – The iconic Bourjois Little Round Pot Blushers are very pretty. The formula and texture feel smooth and velvety. These blushes are available in various finishes like matte and with some shimmers. However, the shimmers are not too much and give a nice sheen to the cheeks. These blushes can be doubled up as a blush and highlighter. The pigmentation is subtle but buildable. Since Bourjois is a UK brand it is difficult to find in some countries.  However, I purchase Bourjois products from Amazon, but I have to mention that sometimes shipping does take some time. These blushes are available in less than $10 in UK, but when we order from Amazon, there are various sellers selling for higher price.

Milani Baked Blush in the shade Luminoso –  Milani baked blushes are soft, smooth and pigmented. These have a luminous satin finish. There are eight shades available from lighter pinks, corals to deeper berry shades. Here I am sharing the popular shade Luminoso, which is a very close dupe for NARS Orgasm blush. Luminoso is a light medium peachy coral shade with subtle pigmentation and sheen. The formula feels soft and blends well. Even thought the pigmentation is subtle, we can build it to the desired color. This blush looks gorgeous across all complexions and gives a healthy flush to the cheeks. A beautiful shade for the summer. I do not have a detail review on this blush but will do so when I get a couple more shades. 🙂 This blush is also available on Amazon.
