Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Eye Shadow Palette Review

Hi! Hope you are having a nice day. While on vacation, I did some shopping and got the beautiful Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Eye Shadow Palette, instead of the Tarte Sizzle Eye Shadow Palette which was on my list. What? Yes! Does this happen with anyone else? Please comment below so I feel better ;-). I picked it by mistake. The outer pink rose gold shimmery packaging looked similar to ‘that’ palette and without a second thought it was in my shopping basket. Hehe! Pssst!

Product Details – An eye and cheek palette full of dreamy, flower-powered shades so creamy and pigmented, you’ll swear they’re magical. This palette features 10 eye shadows and one highlighter in a range of rosy, plummy and neutral shades. You’ll find shimmering metallics, as well as creamy-never chalky – mattes in magnetic, removable pans laid out to look like flower. Amazonian clay and mineral pigments help balance skin to prevent pigment creasing or fading.

Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Eye Shadow Palette Review

Tarte Love Trust & fairy Dust Eye Shadow Palette is a limited edition palette for summer 2018. This palette was released along with some other products like blushes, mascara etc., in their Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Vault. Even though this was a limited edition palette, it is still available on Sephora’s Website as well as on Tarte Website.

Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Eye Shadow Palette Review

The packaging of the Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Eye Shadow Palette is pretty and sparkly. I like the pinky purple glittery star studded compact. It is a round palette somewhat similar to a CD. When we open it, there are ten eye shadows and one highlighter laid out in the palette like a flower. The names of the eye shadows are printed on the palette.  There is a nice large mirror inside, which I appreciate. The palette inside looks pretty because of all the rose gold glossy shine. It is mentioned by the brand that the pans in the palette are removable, however I believe it will be difficult to do so, because I don’t see any slot that will help to remove the pans easily.

The ten eye shadows, that are beautifully laid out in the Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Eye Shadow Palette look pretty. There are six mattes and just four shimmery metallic eye shadows. There is a nice champagne gold highlighter in the center of the palette. The formula of the eye shadows is good, but it is not wow! The shimmer shadows are creamy, soft and smooth, while the matte shadows feel a little drier and powdery. This is so unlike Tarte. The other palettes like the mini Tartiest PRO to go mini eye shadow palette that I have, the mattes are so creamy and soft. But mattes in the Tarte love trust & fairy dust eye shadow palette feel a little firm in comparison to the other matte shadows by Tarte.

Even the drugstore palettes like the Milani Earthy Elements palette  and the Covergirl Tru Naked Palette, the mattes are very soft and creamy. You can see in the swatches these look patchy. However, the shimmer shadows are very creamy and the pigmentation is great too. The highlighter is also very pigmented. But a little intense for me. Using a light hand gives a nice natural glow to the cheeks.

Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Eye Shadow Swatches and Review

Wish – Deep matte plum color but looks like a brown shade to me.

Gossamer – This is a light cream shade with matte finish. A nice overall base color and a brow bone highlight.

Frolic – Frolic is a standard light brown shade. This one has a matte finish too, obviously!

Twinkle – This one is a beautiful metallic peachy golden shade. It has a slight duo-chrome effect. We can see a light pink flash to it.

Flitter- A light metallic pink shade. This is again a pretty shimmery eye shadow.

Wonder – A plum brown shade in matte finish. Nothing more to say about this one. We can use it as an eye liner.

Whimsical – A purple mauve shade in matte finish.

Giggle – This is a very light mauve shade. It also has a matte finish but, I see some sheen to it.

Magic – A rosy copper shade with some silver shimmer. We can see the silver flecks in this eye shadow. One of the pretty shades in this palette. Not very unique though.:-)

Mystical – Metallic cranberry magenta, that has a beautiful orange duo-chrome shift to it. This is the only unique shade in the palette. I like this shade a lot.

Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Eye Shadow Palette Review and Swatches

Overall, an okay palette for me, because of the dominance of matte shadows in this palette. The outer packaging gives the vibes of shimmery palette. I was expecting more sparkly shades. Well! I don’t mind the matte shadows but the formula of the matte in this palette is okay. They do not swatch well but they perform quite well on the eyes. The lasting power is nice too. This is a regular neutral palette that we can find easily. Only one ruby red shade is unique in this palette. However, this is great for everyday kind of looks, but we already own so many neutral palettes. It is a good palette but now exciting like the Colourpop Yes! Please palette or the huda beauty Obsessions mauve or the warm palette.

Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Eye Shadow Palette Review and Swatches

The Tarte Love Trust & Fairy Dust Eye Shadow Palette is for those who like to collect the limited edition palettes or who love some bling-bling packaging. It is not worth the price for two or may be four pretty shadows. The rest are same and boring. When we purchase a Tarte eye shadow palette we want some gorgeousness in the palette. At least I expect some really unique and lovely eye shadows, along with beautiful packaging and softer and smoother formula. I loved the packaging and feel it is a great addition to my beautiful packaging collection hehe! In case you like this palette, you can purchase it from Sephora and Tarte Website. Have you seen this palette? What are your thoughts let me know in the comments. Thanks a lot for reading and have a great day!

Until next time take care and stay beautiful! 🙂

Wonderful presentation and review!!! Can you believe I don’t own any Tarte product? (because of the high customs fees for products coming from US). But I would love to try this palette and so many other things! Have a great week ahead dear Via!

Thanks a lot Helene. You are always so sweet. I wish there was no customs for personal use products. It would be a dream come true. Hehe. Have a great day lovely. 🙂

  • Nova says:

I really do think that this palette is beautifully designed and perfect for the neutral lover that leans more towards pinks and mauves. But I didn’t get it, mainly because I’ve just been interested in other colour-schemes these days. Glad to hear that it performs well! Tarte shadows are very good, although sometimes I find them to be almost TOO blendable! Like they will move around too much, making smaller detail work more difficult.

    • msvia says:

You have amazing skills Nova. I agree the shades are pretty and simple. The other one was on my list but this one did not disappoint at all.:-)

  • This is a really pretty palette. It’s been awhile since I purchased any Tarte palettes. I usually like the round shape of their palettes.

I prefer smaller palette Jennifer. It is easy to use and travel as well. Round ones look unique and cute. Thank you so much my dear. 🙂

I still haven’t tried anything from Tarte but I would have totally bought this palette only for the packaging!! It’s a gorgeous packaging and you know I love pink and purple so much!! xx

What a beautiful post Via! I absolutely love Tarte Cosmetics (I only really purchase their products during their sales though, I’m a little bit broke) as all of the products are such good quality! As usual, your photos are absolutely unreal (literally magical here) and the packaging is just WOW. I normally love their formula but it’s a real shame that the mattes were a little powdery. I’d still buy it for a collector’s item though! x

Yes Lisa a nice everyday neutral palette. Tarte always do such pretty packaging. Actually I have a few neutral palette and I had something else in mind hence the lesser wow effect I guess hahah. Thanks a lot Lisa. 🙂

    • msvia says:

I know when I opened the palette I was like What? This is not the one I wanted. But I guess, I will be using it any way. Have a great week lovely. It is always very warm and sunny here in Philippines that I rarely want to go to a park haha! Have a nice day Mica and thank you! 🙂

  • Reine says:

The packaging is nice – I need all the glitter in my collection! Surprised I’ve never heard of this palette before, I’m usually up to date with makeup releases! They have some nice colours in there but like you said it’s very neutral – I have all these shades in other palettes

    Reine | The Blush Luxe

    • msvia says:

Me too! Love and want all the glitters in this world hahaha! It was released for the summer I am guessing. It is a pretty palette though right from the packaging to the shadows in the palette. But there are very few shimmers. 🙂 Thank you Reine dear.

  • The bright and sparkly gorgeous purple packaging is such a contrast to the subtle neutral eyeshadows 🙂 You have such an amazing collection of palettes I would love to see ‘collection’ kinda posts someday 😀

Aww! Shri thank you so much. Yes it is a gorgeous palette. Tarte packaging is always so pretty. Absolutely I will do a post some day. Take care and have a nice day my dear. 🙂

  • Merkitty says:

Such an adorable palette! I love how it looks and the colours are really pretty. It looks a bit dusty, hard to see if it is or not from the swatches? I like that it’s a fairly neutral looking palette though.

    Thanks for sharing ♥

    • msvia says:

Yes Merkitty this is such a pretty palette and yes the mattes are a bit dry feeling. In the swatches the mattes are looking a bit patchy but they perform well on the eyes. 🙂 Thanks for visiting.
