Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette Mauve Review

Hello Lovelies! First of all sorry for fewer posts for the past two weeks. 🙂 Today I am here with my thoughts on Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette Mauve. I know I am so late with my reviews. But it is difficult for me to get my hands on new launches. Well! I have already spoken about the Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions Palette. If you have read it you already know I love these mini eye shadow palettes.

6 pigmented mattes and 3 gorgeous shimmers in dusty rose and plummy hues create a soft, natural finish for a smoky, sultry effect. 

The packaging of the Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette Mauve is similar to that of the Warm Brown palette. Small black, sturdy cardboard box with magnetic closure. There is a small mirror and the ultra compact size of the palette makes it very travel friendly. I love that there is no space wasted in the packaging. It is super compact and perfect. It does not include those mostly unusable sponge applicators or brushes.

The Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette Mauve features a mix of nine shades. From pinks, rosy pinks, plums, burgundy and a beige color. This is  basically a mauve toned palette with some warmth to the shades. There is a combination of mattes and shimmers which I like. There are six matte and three shimmer shadows in this palette.

The pigmentation of the eye shadows in Huda Beauty Obsessions palette Mauve is strong. Very similar to the Warm Browns Obsessions palette. The texture is quite silky, although there is some dryness to the mattes but these somehow work well. 🙂 . The formula of the shimmers are also very smooth and feel velvety soft. The shimmer shadows are also pressed firmly so there is less fallout. I just love the shimmer shadows  a lot. One thing I want to mention that the swatches look poor though. I tried to build them up but was unable to. However, these apply very smoothly and beautifully on the eyes. Some shades in this palette are a little sheer but can be build.

Mauve #1 – This is a dark burgundy shade with some red undertones. This shadow has a matte finish. The pigmentation of this one is a little sheer but can be build to full opacity. Not that I wear such dark eye shadows to full opacity. I like sheer which can be build. This shadow does  feel a little powdery.

Mauve #2 – This is a beautiful shimmer eye shadow. The shade is like a rosy pink with some warm coral undertone that gives this shade a little brightness. The color pay off is superb. The texture of this shade feels soft and buttery. This can best be applied using finger or damp brush.

Mauve #3- This shade is a light mauve pink with some warm undertones. It has a shimmery metallic finish. This shade blends well and adds a little brightness to the eyes. The consistency of this shadow is again smooth and creamy.

Mauve #4 – This is a medium toned dark pinkish red and has warm undertones. This is a shimmer shade that is leaning towards metallic finish. The pigmentation is intense and blends on the skin easily. The texture of this eye shadow feels silky smooth. Even though there is a little fallout, I love these kind of shades a lot.

Mauve #5 –  A light taupe shade with matte finish. This looks quite neutral when we swatch it. Almost like a mauve tone with slight warm undertone. The opacity of this shadow is great as well as the texture is soft and silky. This blends well too.

Mauve #6 – This is a darker red with some warm pink to it. In the pan it looks matte. However, when we swatch this shade there is some sheen to it. But the pigmentation is a sheer. Even if we try to build this shade, by adding a few layers it still looks a little sheer.

Mauve #7 – A very deep burgundy plum shade with some warm darker brown undertone. In the pan it looks deep dark plum, but when we swatch, it has that dark brown look to it. This shade  is matte finish. This shadow is a little drier and a little powdery feel to it. It also has some fallout. However, like other shadows in the palette is blends well.

Mauve #8 –  A light vanilla shade with a hint of pink. This one has looks like has some warmth to it. The finish of this shadow is matte. A beautiful overall base shade. The pigmentation, blendability, and consistency is excellent and very creamy smooth.

Mauve #9 – A dark, dark rich brownish red with some warm undertones. The finish of this eye shadow is matte. This one is drier in comparison to other shadows in the pan. While we swatch or try to pick up with brush it feels a little powdery.

Overall, I am loving the Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette Mauve. The formula, texture, pigmentation and the blendablity is superb. I love the warm and rich color selection. Both the Warm Brown Obsessions as well as the Mauve Obsessions as my new travel buddies. Now I am eyeing the Gemstone Obsessions Palette. 😉  I suggest you to try these mini sized Obsessions eye shadow palettes, if you have not tried her larger palettes. The justification here is that these are smaller and less expensive to her larger palettes that are available. We can purchase this palette from Sephora for $27, while on Amazon it is easily available for $33.98 and on Huda Beauty Website it is available for $36.
