Hey lovelies! Last month I visited Mumbai and did a few face masks. shopping. VLCC Mud Face Pack is one of them. I purchased it because it is a mud mask and also because it says – it tightens and brightens the skin. I have this belief that regular use of face masks helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles or at least slows down the process of aging. 😉 Anything that promises good results, I have to try. Besides, regular use of clay based masks helps to keep my skin at it’s best.
VLCC is a beauty and slimming service clinic in India. It was founded in 1989 by Vandana Luthra. VLCC currently spans in 150 cities in India and 14 countries across South Asia and South East Asia and also in East Africa. VLCC also carries a range of hair care and skincare products that are made from natural ingredients. I purchased this VLCC Mud Face Pack, after a really long time.
Product Description – This unique formulation enriched with Kaolin, Turmeric Powder and Mint Oil cleanses the deep seated impurities and toxins and helps remove excessive oil from the skin making it spotless and beautiful. It also helps to improve blood circulation that tightens & brightens the skin.
The packaging of the VLCC Mud Face Pack is very elegant and sleek. The bright white plastic tub is good quality and feels nice. I like the minimal design, with the right amount of color and the brand insignia. The silver shine adds a little glamour to the over all appearance. I also like that the jar is sealed. However, a soft squeeze tube is always preferred. I use a spatula to scoop the product out. I’d suggest all the face masks that are packaged in these type of tubs should include a spatula. 🙂
The VLCC Mud Face Pack inside is light medium brown in color. It resembles a foundation or a tinted moisturizer. The texture is very smooth, creamy and light. It reminds me of my Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask and the Pixi Glow Mud Mask. Due to the light creamy mousse like consistency, it is very easy to apply. It actually applies like some cream or even foundation. I don’t think I have used any face mask that is so light. Well! The Derma e Anti Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic face mask has a similar consistency but that one is not mousse like. The VLCC Mud Face Pack has a mild natural mint and sandalwood kind of scent. It is very pleasing to me.
The main ingredients mentioned on the packaging are Kaolin clay which helps to prevent breakouts and also helps to absorb excess oil and impurities from the skin. Turmeric is a powerful ingredient with natural anti-inflammatory properties. It also helps to brighten the skin. The presence of almond oil, sunflower oil and mint oil in this mask, helps to keep the skin well hydrated.
I apply a thicker layer, and leave it on for 20-30 minutes. It dries pretty quickly and does not stretch or pull the skin. I feel a mild cooling and tingling sensation after I apply the mask. I always wash off the mask using tap water and my small round flat sponge. It helps to remove the mask faster as well as helps in exfoliation.
I just love the result. My skin looks brighter and feels soft and smooth. This mask unlike my Himalaya Herbals Neem Face Pack does not dry my skin, if I leave it for a long time. VLCC Mud Face Pack imparts a natural glow and brightness to the skin. However, the effect is not that long lasting. But regular use will keep our skin firm, clean and bright. Besides the cost is so minimal just Rs/-200 for 70 grams of product, which is less than $4. And I just checked, it is cheaper on Amazon. It is really amazing how inexpensive and effective this mask is. However, it takes some time to see good results.
Overall, I like this mask and will stock up on, when I visit Mumbai next week. Yay! You can never go wrong with all natural ingredients. It feels like a home made mask to me. I highly recommend trying the VLCC Mud Face Pack. It is suitable for all skin types and the results are amazing. We can use this mask daily, because it does not dry the skin and helps to keep our skin in good condition. I know some of my friends may not be familiar with this brand and have not seen this face mask around. But it is easily available in India and a few other countries. Have you tried this mask? What are your thoughts? 🙂
Until next time happy vacation and stay bright and beautiful! 🙂
Never heard of this brand before. You have wrote a great and detailed review. You have taken lovely photographs! Thank you for sharing! Xx
I know this is more popular brand back in India. Thanks a lot my dear. 🙂
Sometimes we don’t have to pay lots of money for a brilliant product and this mask sounds like a budget friendly winner.
Yes Shireen absolutely. There are some Indian brands that are really great and so inexpensive. 🙂 Thank you so much.
The first thing I noticed was the container, it’s quite pretty. It sounds effective as well based on the ingredients. I love what turmeric can do for skin, except for when it stains it:) Apart from that, I hope you’ll update us when you’re close to finishing to see if any of your thoughts about the mask have changed. xo
I totally agree with you Marie. Turmeric is such an effective ingredient in the face masks. Even in my DIY face masks I add a little turmeric. 🙂 By the way I got the backup of this mask. I love it as it is best for everyday use. 🙂
It sounds like a great mask! it’s good that it’s not drying too! 🙂
Hope that your week is going well 🙂 I had my last day at work yesterday so the Christmas holidays have officially begun here, yey!
