Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation Review

Hi! I have been using the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation for the past three years, maybe even more. Already having a backup says a lot about this powder foundation. It deserves to be on my blog. I know I am so late with this review but I really love this product and just wanted to make a quick post.

I have oily skin so I love using powders as it helps to keep my skin matte throughout the day. Some of my favorite powders are the Laura Mercier loose setting powder, Maybelline Fit Me loose powder, Coty Airspun are a cheaper version but one of the best at the drugstore. I highly recommend.

Tarte is one of my favorite brands at Sephora. It is cruelty free, vegan and I just love everything I have tried by this brand. Since I mostly prefer powder foundations, I got the Tarte amazonian clay full coverage airbrush foundation along with the Airbuki Brush. This foundation is available in 12 different shades from lightest being fair to deepest being rich honey. The shade range also mentions warm, cool and neutral undertones, so choosing a shade online is pretty easy.

Product Description – A talc-free, 12-hour medium-coverage, weightless powder foundation. Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation delivers flawless, natural-looking coverage that lasts, while the skintuitive™ formula invigorates skin tone and texture for a youthful complexion. Powered by Amazonian clay enriched with the earth’s natural, light-reflecting gemstones, this talc-free, moisture-rich powder buffs on smoothly for waterproof, 12-hour coverage that won’t settle into fine lines and wrinkles. Available in an array of shades to perfectly complement a wide range of skin tones and undertones, this innovative foundation also employs a custom mesh delivery system for a fool-proof, mess-free application every time.

The packaging of the Tarte amazonian clay full coverage airbrush foundation is fantastic. It comes in a round plastic jar with a twist open wooden like lid. When we open the lid it has a mesh like net covered sifter. The cap is also designed so there is no wastage of product. This also prevents the powder from flying around while we are using it. I absolutely love this packaging. It is totally unique and I have never seen it before. It is perfect for travelling. However, I have noticed if by mistake you press it harder and get too much product on the brush we don’t have a place to tap it off. You will have to work on the mesh to get rid of the extra product. I hope it makes sense. I am always careful when I am using it.

The formula of the Tarte Amazonian clay full coverage airbrush foundation is free of parabens, mineral oil, talc, Phthalates and is also gluten free. The main ingredients in this powder foundation are Amazonian Clay, Tourmaline, Pearl Powder, Mineral Pigments and Camellia Leaf Extract. It also contains sea salt, caffeine, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.

The texture of the powder foundation is smooth, silky and is finely milled. Being a matte powder foundation it may feel heavy at first but once buffed into the skin feels lightweight and smooth. I feel it is great for oily skin people. I apply after my sunscreen and primer. It gives a smooth and flawless finish. But if you have dry skin you will need to prep your skin with a good moisturizer to get that dewy glowing look.

Application

The Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation applies smoothly and blends well into the skin. I use the Tarte Airbuki brush and buff the powder into my skin in circular motion. I like light to medium coverage and one to two layers is perfect for me. However if you want full coverage you will need two to three layers of application. It does not take much time to build it up. 🙂 Even after building the powder foundation it looks absolutely natural. It gives a smooth semi-matte airbrush look. As it is matte is does a great job of covering imperfections like redness, acne and discoloration on the skin.

I have used this powder foundation in cooler weather as well as in the hot humid climate. It lasts all day in cooler places while in hot weather the performance is great too but the lasting power is like 4-5 hours. I have to mention that my skin is oily and after 4-5 hours my skin starts to look dewy. But the foundation does not wear off. I also love that it does not settle in fine lines and wrinkles.

The Tarte Airbuki foundation brush is my absolute favorite. I have had this for the past three years and it is still the best. I use this brush to buff the powder into my skin. Just dip it onto the mesh and buff. The short and dense bristles blend the powder perfectly into the skin. It also helps in providing smooth and even looking complexion. This brush is great to travel with. It is small and cute. I need a backup. And you need to listen to some relaxing music by your favorite music artist. Sign up for free 30 days trial below. 🙂

Overall, I just love the Tarte Amazonian Clay full coverage airbrush foundation. It is light weight and feels like nothing on the skin. If you don’t like to wear too much makeup, you will love it. A light layer works well to even out the complexion and we are good to go. There is a lot of product and last a long time. I was surprised to see it is still available at Sephora. I highly recommend trying this if you have oily skin and love using powder foundations. Do you love using powder foundations? Which is your current favorite foundation? Have you tried this one?

Until next time stay safe, healthy, bright and beautiful! 🙂
