Hi! Today, I have all natural herbal face mask to talk about. Vaadi Herbals Chandan Kesar haldi face pack. It’s been a while that I wrote about face masks. Not that I have stopped masking but I was trying to use up all my face masks that were open. I have finished quite a few like my L’Oreal Clay Masks, Pixi glow mud mask (trying to squeeze out the little that is left), Himalaya Herbals Neem pack as well as the Himalaya Peel off face pack. And I already have some new backup tubes hehehe. 🙂 So here I am with some new face mask reviews. And I start with Vaadi Herbals Chandan Kesar Haldi face pack.
About the brand Vaadi Herbals – Vaani Herbals is an Indian brand that manufactures organic and herbals skincare products. However, this is a new brand to me. But, apparently the parent company has been researching herbs, for the past 150 years. Vaani herbals embarked on their journey for herbal cosmetics and personal care products by using ideal blend of Ayurveda and modern science.
I am a big fan and a true believer in Chandan (sandalwood) Kesar (Saffron) and Haldi (Turmeric). A few years back, okay add a few more years to that, I struggled with acne and pimples. Now, that I think back, there were so many reasons for that – lack of proper sleep, lots and lots of stress, super oily skin, no time for taking care of myself, dust and pollution. The result was visible on my cheeks. I used to try to keep my skin clean so I could get rid of my pesky acne and pimples. The last resort that helped me was sandalwood. I used sandalwood stick by rubbing and making a paste and applying it before going to bed. Slowly I stated adding turmeric. And the result was spectacular.
So when I saw the ingredient list of the Vaadi Herbals Chandan kesar haldi face pack. I literally jumped on Amazon and bought the biggest size available. Well, I was looking for face masks on Amazon India. 🙂 I was 100% sure it will work. Now, I don’t have much acne or pimple problem, but, sometimes I do get one or two. And this mask along with my other face masks like The body shop teatree mask, help me to keep my acne under control.
Product Description – This face pack is a scientifically developed complexion-enhancing formulation. It is excellent for smoothing and evening the skin. This age-old combination of Chandan, Kesar&Haldi effectively exfoliates dead skin cells from the surface. It even fights tanning; fades dark spots and blemishes; and lightens the overall tone of the skin.
The packaging is a HUGE plastic tub with twist open lid. There is a lot of product (160 gms) for approximately Rs.485 on the official Vaadi Herbals website and Rs.435 on Amazon India. I have to mention, everything is very cheap and affordable in India. The printed design and the overall, look of the jar is lovely and very “herbal-y”. I like the tub, however it is not at all travel friendly. Well, I could carry, it along if I had nothing else in my luggage.
The texture and consistency of this mask is SUPER creamy and buttery. You can see in the picture below. It is like how the butter is very smooth when kept at room temperature – that kind of buttery. This reminds me of The Bodyshop Teatree oil face mask. It has a pleasant sandalwood/herbal scent, which I love. It is similar to the VLCC mud mask scent.
The ingredients – The ingredient list is impressive. All natural, organic and powerful. These ingredients have been used and proven for centuries in ayurveda.
Steam Distilled Saffron Extract (Crocus Sativus), Pure Turmeric Extract (Curcuma Longa), Sandalwood Extract (Santalum album), Manjistha Extract (Rubia Cordifolia), Tea Tree Oil ( Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil), Vitamin E ( Tocopheryl Acetate), Fullers Earth (Fullers Earth), DM Water (Aqua)
Sandalwood (Chandan) – Apart from the beautiful fragrance, sandalwood has been used as a natural complexion enhancer. Due to it’s anti-microbial properties, sandalwood is not only used to treat acne breakouts and blackheads but also works as soothing agent on cuts, burns and other skin problems. Additionally, it also helps to brighten the complexion by removing blemishes, acne marks and works best on dark spots. It hydrates the skin and reduces excess oil and helps shrinks pores. I just love sandalwood as it was my savior.
Turmeric – Turmeric (called haldi in India) is another powerful ingredient that works wonders when used in skincare. It is a natural anti-bacterial and antiseptic agent. It is great to fight and prevent acne, blackheads and other skin concerns. Besides it is also used for disinfecting cuts and burns. Application of turmeric improves blood circulation. Turmeric is also popular to impart radiance and glow to the skin.
Saffron (Kesar) – Saffron with strong anti-bacterial properties has proven effective against skin infections. It has been used in skincare for centuries, which also unclogs pores by removing dead skin cells and excess oil. As a powerful anti-oxidant it induces collagen production and cell regeneration, thus improving skin elasticity and helps delay signs of aging. However, saffron is very pricey too. Saffron is also very popular to brighten complexion, due to its ability to lighten acne scars and blemishes.
Application
I cleanse my face with my trusted Celeteque acne control cleanser/ Himalaya Neem Face Wash or Bodymerry Glycolic Cleanser. Then I use my Thayers Witch Hazel toner. After the toner has absorbed. I take a generous amount of Vaadi Herbals Chandan Haldi Kesar Face mask and apply on my face. Leave it on for half an hour or more. This face mask is very gentle and hydrating. It is so gentle that you can keep it on for all night and still your skin will not feel dry. Okay, this is applicable for oily skin girls. Trust me, you will thank me later. 🙂
I have been using this mask for a while now and I see the difference. My skin feels more smooth and brighter after washing off this mask. There was just one acne on my chin area and with the use of this mask I got rid of it. Not only the swelling but also the darker acne mark, that was left behind, faded significantly.
Overall, I am loving this face mask. The results are amazing. I have used it regularly for more than a month and my skin looks brighter and feels soft and smooth. Besides it is made with all natural ingredients. I love it when brands use natural products in skincare. It is also very affordable. You will get a lot of product that will last a long-long time. 🙂 It is a great and affordable face mask for all skin types. But, I highly recommend trying this mask if you have oily acne prone skin. You will definitely see the results. To try you do not need to buy the larger pack. There are smaller tubes available on Amazon India as well.

How often do need I to apply this mask for the best results? Every day, once a week?
It is gentle enough for every day use. But it depends on your skin type. If you have oily skin you can use it every day or alternate days. But if you have dry skin I suggest you can use twice/thrice a week. Thanks Rachel. 🙂
Hi can I leave the face pack overnight?
You can but it may dry your skin. I recommend washing it off after 20-30 minutes if you want to keep it longer. However if you have acne you can do spot treatment overnight. 🙂 I hope this helps.
