Chanel No.5 Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick Review

Hey lovelies! When my hubby gave me the Chanel No.5 Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick, I was swooning over the beautiful red and gold packaging. I am still not over it :-). Well! this is the first time the husband purchased a lipstick for me. (Of Course, I told him to look, if this beautiful lipstick was still available). I am so happy he got it for me and I am all starry eyed…. I had to include it on my blog. Even though, it was a limited edition shade for the Chanel 2018 Holiday Collection, I am glad it is still available on Chanel’s Website.

Chanel No.5 Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick is a warm toned red with some cool pink tone sheen.

Product Description – An exclusive CHANEL holiday creation, ROUGE ALLURE VELVET in No.5 dresses lips in bold red, longwearing colour with a sumptuously soft velvet matte finish. This non-drying matte lipstick glides on smoothly and is formulated with mother-of-pearl pigments for rich colour and a soft finish along with Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter to comfort and moisturize lips. All in a collectible red lacquered version of the signature ROUGE ALLURE click case.

The packaging of the Chanel No.5 Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick is so beautiful and luxurious. I love the gorgeous golden tube with red lacquered cap. The golden Chanel insignia shines on the top. The classic click when you press it, is very satisfying. The lipstick has the classic No.5 stamp on the bullet instead of the usual CHANEL Logo.

Chanel No.5 Rouge Allure Velvet is a rich red with slightly cooler undertone. It is not totally blue toned red. But has a very subtle blue undertone. The richness of the red color is beautiful. But I also feel it has a bit of pink iridescence to it.

The formula of Chanel No.5 Rouge Allure Velvet is the same signature light weight, with great pigmentation and smooth velvet texture. However, it feels slightly more creamier to my other Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick. It applies smoothly and feels like nothing on the lips. One layer deposits the color well, but second layer gives it more opacity on my darker lips. I love the satin finish that looks matte. The lasting power is approximately 4-5 hours. However, it fades evenly and leaves a beautiful stain which I love. My NARS Velvet lip glide also does that.:-) It has the taste and scent like any other luxury brand makeups have.

Overall, I am so happy that I have this limited edition Chanel No.5 Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick in my collection. The red shade is pretty and feels hydrating and looks matte. Due to emotional reasons, this tube will always be there with me, even when I have used up the lipstick. My first luxury fragrance was Chanel No.5 and am glad to have the Chanel No. 5 lipstick as well. Both the Chanel No.5 were gifts from my husband, and these are close to my heart. 😀 Have you tried Chanel lipsticks? Which ones are your favorite?
