Hi! Today I want to share the 10 must-have lip products for your makeup bag. Wishing all the lipstick lovers happy international lipstick day. Since we have almost emerged from the pandemic, we can talk lipsticks again. It feels like ages that we got to wear lipsticks. But now all the lipstick lovers, are back in action. No look is complete without something on your pout. From creamy lipsticks to matte, there are so many different types of lip makeup available to add a pop of color to your lips. On this occasion, let me share 10 must have lips products every woman must have in her beauty stash.
Lipstick
Lets begin with the classic lipstick. A regular lipstick bullet whether in classic Hollywood red, nude or pink, is a must to complete any makeup look. Even on days when you don’t have time to do all your makeup, just a pop of color on your lips will brighten your face, and it hardly takes time. If you are in a hurry carry a lipstick in your purse, to use it on the go. There are plenty of options available. It depends on your preference if you want to go for matte or cream formula. I am currently loving my Gucci lipstick.
Liquid Lipstick
Liquid lipstick was a rage a few years back. Everyone was loving the liquid lipsticks and their smudge proof formula. However, they felt a bit drying but not any more. Brands have perfected the formula to be comfortable, long lasting and smudge proof at the same time. Liquid lipsticks are a great option for those who need their lipsticks to last longer without the need for touch ups. Like special occasions, travel, night outs. My most loved are the pretty L’Oreal matte glosses at the drugstore and the Dior liquid lipsticks. Besides it is always fun to mix and match the shades to create your unique lip color or you can try the two toned lipstick trend. I love the combination of bright magenta pink and red.
Matte Lipstick
Matte lipsticks have become a staple in a woman’s purse. There is something about wearing a matte lip. It gives that sophisticated and elegant looking vibes. You can wear matte lipsticks anytime of the year. During summer time go with bright colors like hot pink and orange while for winter go with deeper darker hues. I recently got the L’Oreal Intense matte lipstick in shade plum, which is perfect for fall and winter. If you don’t like the dryness accompanied by matte lipsticks, you can always wear your cream lipstick, dab it with a tissue, use some powder and re-apply the lipstick and again dab it with a tissue and you will get the look of matte lip, which will also last longer.
Lip Stains
Lip stains are a must have because they are like liquid lipstick but water like formula. Lip stains dry down matte with strong color pay off and stays on the lips all day. Benefit Cosmetics has some lovely lip stains. Sephora Collection has a wide shade range in lip stains.
Lip Plumper
Not every one is blessed with fuller lips. But we have some amazing lip products that can be used to get the look of smooth and plumper looking pout. Lip plumper is a great option instead of getting the injections. Too Faced lip injection intense is one of my favorite to use before applying lipsticks. However, if you don’t like the tingling sensation that comes with lip plumper, then it is not for you.

Lip Gloss
One of the 10 must-have lip products in your makeup bag is lip gloss. Lip glosses add shine and fullness to the lips. Sometimes when you are rocking a dramatic eye, subtle lips is necessary. Just adding a lip gloss comes in handy. Or when you do not feel like wearing a lipstick, lip gloss adds freshness. Fenty beauty lip gloss is just amazing. Light weight non goopy formula works perfectly for no lipstick days, with just a touch of color, hydration and shine.
Lip Liner
Lip liner is an essential when it comes to lip products. Lining your lips with a lip liner before applying lipstick, helps to prevent the lipstick from feathering. They also work wonders to make your lips look fuller. The trick is to line ever so slightly outside your natural lip line and then applying lipstick will make your lips look extra plump and poutier. Pick the right shade. You can even try the ombre lip trend. Just pick a lip liner that matches your lipstick but must be a couple shades darker. Draw the outline and blend it well with your lipstick, but keeping the liner just on the edges of your lips. You will find some lovely lip liners at the drugstore. My favorites are from L’Oreal and Milani.
Lip Palette
Lip palette a major player in lip makeup. With multiple shades of lipsticks in one place you can play around with different colors to create your own signature shade. Mix and match, create ombre lip looks and more. There are so many lip palettes available. Pick one according to your preference like red lip palette or nude lip palette. However, you can also make your own lip palette. Just de-pot your old lipsticks, try to match the colors and voila you lip palette is ready to use.
Glossy Balm
Just like lip gloss, glossy balms are a way to keep your makeup simple and fresh. There are times when you want to go for a no makeup, makeup looks. Like a little tinted moisturizer, mascara and glossy balm that adds fullness and volume to your lips. Always carry a glossy balm in your purse. You never know when you will need it.
Tinted Balm
Tinted balms are a must in your 10 must-have lip products because there are times when our lips feel dry and chapped. Tinted balms act as a healing product, while also providing some color to your lips. I love using it all the time. My favorite is the Sugar tinted lip balm by Fresh beauty. It is a great option for no makeup days and also while you are at home and want to wear some color on your lips. It will keep your lips hydrated and baby soft. Always carry a lip balm in your purse.

I tend to wear lip glosses more than any other lip product. I’ve never been able to master liquid lipstick!
Jill – Doused in Pink
I am more of a lipstick girl, but do love lip glosses often. There was a time I used liquid lipsticks but have gone back to classic lipsticks as my lips get dry. 🙂 Thanks very much Jill. Have a nice day.
I’m a big fan of lip stains and tinted balms, especially the balms. I find lipstick is too much nowadays, since the pandemic I’ve been adopting a more natural look 🙂
Yes Lisa, even I have become a minimalist when it comes to wearing makeup. I am into glosses and tinted lip balms when at home but whenever I go out it has to be lipstick. BTW we are still wearing masks in Philippines. 🙂
lip glosses make my lips beautiful & moist, thanks for sharing
