Hello everyone! Welcome to a short post on Maybelline New York Color Whisper Lipstick. A couple of months back, maybe a little more, I posted about these lipsticks on my Instagram. I received a few questions about these. However, that time I thought these are not available, as I could not find them on Maybelline’s Website. But, I recently checked on Amazon, and was pleasantly surprised that these are still available. Besides, I pinned the same picture on my Pinterest account, and this pin performed better than my other pins and I also got a lot of clicks to my website. I felt, bad about not having this post on my blog. So, I thought, I will do a quick review on the beautiful Maybelline New York Color Whisper lipstick. I have a couple lipstick posts too which you can check, if you love lipsticks like me.
Product description – Soft, sexy translucent gel- color. Pure color pigments suspended in a weightless gel. Just a kiss of shine.
The packaging of Maybelline New York Color Whisper lipstick is very pretty. I love the silver print on the glossy lid. The packaging is very sleek and slim. The color of the lid coordinates with the color of the lipstick inside. The shade range is pretty great. There are 20 shades available on Amazon. From nudes to bright and bold colors. There is a shade for everyone. However, if you are not comfortable with wearing bright and vibrant shades, these lipsticks are still worth trying. Because, even the brighter shades apply sheer and give just a nice color and shine to the lips.
The formula of these lipsticks is super moisturizing. The texture is almost gel like. It glides very smoothly on the lips. These are very comfortable on the lips. The pigmentation of these lipsticks is on the sheer side. In the bullet these look dark and intimidating, but swatch very sheer. Even though the pigmentation is sheer , we can build the color to full opacity. These lipsticks are not long lasting, which is expected of a moisturizing lipstick. I have five shades to share.
# 45 – Who Wore it Red-er – This is a bright pink with a hint of red. It is a perfect summer shade. However, it does not look very bold on the lips, but looks like a little brighter pink color.
# 75 – Rose of Attraction – Again a bright, medium baby pink. However, the name of the lipstick does not match the bright pink color of the lipstick. This one is very sheer. But, this shade will look very pretty on fair complexion.
# 40 – Orange Attitude – A light medium orange with some red to it. I usually prefer blue toned reds, but this was a great way for me to try an orange red shade. It is not too opaque or bold. This gives a hint of orange which I like.
# 95 – Mad for Magenta – A bright bubble gum pink. Again a bright summer lipstick. In the tube it looks like a purple magenta pink shade but it swatches pure pink. I got this shade, for the color, it looked in the tube. Again, the name does not match the color. hehe. 🙂
# 85 – Berry Ready – This is a nice berry shade, however it looks way too dark in the tube. This one is a little streaky in application but, in a couple swipes, we get perfect color on the lips. This is also my favorite shade from the bunch.
Overall, I am loving the Maybelline New York Color Whisper lipstick, as these are very moisturizing on the lips. These feel, just like tinted lip balms. But, I have to mention that the lasting power is just a couple hours and we need to re-apply every 2-3 hours, through out the day. This is one of the best everyday kind of lipstick. A nice hint of color, shine and comfortable to wear. These remind of the Revlon Lip Butters that were everywhere a couple years back. I love these lipsticks a lot and highly recommend trying them, if you love a good moisturizing lipstick. However, if you are a matte lipstick lover, you can wear these lipstick when your lips feel dry. I wish Maybelline had not discontinued them. If you wish to purchase, these are still available on Amazon and are very inexpensive.

I prefer a satin finish as mattes don’t suit my lips well! I thought these were the colour sensational ones at first, the shades do look so pretty (especially 45), and from the description they do sound a lot like the Revlon lip butters. I would have been inclined to pick up one or two but I have too many lipsticks haha x

That’s a great review post! I’ve been using maybelline lipsticks from ages ! Shade no 85. Berry ready seems great! I’m more of a dark shade lover and love my lipsticks to be absolutely matt finish 😊
