Tom Ford Honeymoon Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches

Hi! Yes I gave into and bought the Tom Ford Honeymoon Eyeshadow Quad. I have seen this quad around for so long and I actually love the shades in here. This was on my wish list for the a very long time. I always wait for some sale or offers when buying pricey brands. The wait was almost three years. Life is too short not to try something you really want to. 🙂 This is one of the most beautiful eyeshadow palette I own. Even if I did not use it, just looking at it makes me feel so happy. I am glad that this one is a permanent shade in the collection.

The Tom Ford Honeymoon Eyeshadow Quad was released in the spring of 2016, and became one of the most desired palette of the year. Of course, since then it was on my wish list. 🙂 BTW wish list reminded me of my Pinterest Wish List Board. I think you should check it out. The Tom Ford Honeymoon Eyeshadow quad is a warm toned palette with four shadows. The shade range is from reddish, brown with a hint of mauve. The finish of all the four eye shadows is mostly frosty and metallic. All the four shades have great pigmentation and blend very well. Besides the lasting power is like seven to eight hours. I love that this formula can be used both wet and dry. With damp brush the shades are more richer and more metallic. I did not find much info about Tom Ford’s wet/dry formula, only that we can use dry for a ‘soft and sleek finish’ while use it wet for more ‘bold and chromatic finish.’

The packaging of all Tom Ford makeup is actually very fancy, sleek, super luxurious and expensive. I love the shiny and glossy dark brown packaging with gold accents. Like the other luxury brand palettes this one also comes in a dust bag. Inside the quad has a lovely mirror with “Tom Ford” insignia carved into it. This palette also comes with two little applicators of which one has a brush tip. This reminds me of the sponge applicators of the Dior palettes. However, the applicators are good and comes in handy while traveling.

The four eyeshadows in the Tom Ford Honeymoon Eyeshadow Quad are too pretty to touch. But now I am over it and have used it a few times. All the four shades are embossed with the TF stamp on the powders which looks simple yet luxurious. The formula is utterly soft and smooth. The texture of the shadows is buttery soft, and love the color story. These shadows blend like a dream. Even if you are not perfect at eye shadow application like me, it works well. The opacity of these shadows are great even when used dry. The wet application gives a more dramatic and metallic look. I just love it. I tried my best to capture the beauty of the palette.

The four shades clockwise from top left –

Tom Ford Honeymoon #1 – The top left shadow is a light medium toned copper with a hint of warmth to it. It is a light shade but when use a damp brush it looks more metallic and beautiful.

Tom Ford Honeymoon #2 – The top right shade is a darker coppery bronze shade that is absolutely stunning. It has a slight orange undertone to it, which adds to its beauty when used wet. However, in the picture you can see the dry swatch is more brown tone than orange.

Tom Ford Honeymoon #3 – The bottom left shadow is another favorite in this palette. A beautiful deep cranberry shade with metallic sheen. Wet application brings out more redness to this shade. I love it.

Tom Ford Honeymoon #4 – A deep brown with some mauve plum undertone. This is the darkest shade in the quad and pigmentation is lovely. This shadow was less shimmery in comparison to the other three in the quad.

Overall, I am happy to have the Tom Ford Honeymoon quad in my collection. The shadows are just beautiful and also easy to use. It is definitely fail proof quad, you cannot go wrong with. I say that because I am not a pro at eyeshadow looks. 🙂 I am more of a lipstick girl. It is great for creating regular natural looks as well as some smoky bolder metallic looks. I love the shades as it has both warm coppers and cooler mauve tones. So we can use this quad all year round.

However, I also want to mention that, we can find similar shades at a cheaper price. But if you are looking to splurge a little and want to try some great quality shadows and you also love these kind of colors, it is definitely worth it. The main reason to purchase this was to see what the hype is all about with this brand. I can say without a doubt that I am happy with my luxurious purchase.

I highly recommend the Tom Ford quad to those who really love eyeshadows. There are a variety of shades available. It is expensive, but I have to say that it is a collector’s item, that you will treasure for a long time.
