Hi! I love trying new skincare and today I have Pond’s Age Miracle Ultimate Youth Essence to talk about. Since the lockdown, I have started using more skincare and have gone back to some new and affordable drugstore skincare. Well! new at least for me. 🙂 Retinol is one of my favorite skincare ingredient. I am an avid over the counter retinol user. When I saw some retinol based serums at the drugstore I decided, I must try. Pond’s being one of my trusted brand for decades, I got the Pond’s age miracle ultimate youth essence.

Importance of Essence in your skincare routine

Essence in skincare originated in Korea with their 10-Step skincare routine. An essence is often mistaken to be a serum. Well! I always used essence thinking it is a serum. But it comes in between toner and serum. While toner helps to rebalance the Ph of skin and serum is like a treatment product, essence provides moisture and plays an important role in boosting the effects of the next step in skincare. The consistency of essence is mostly thicker than a toner, but thinner than serum. Essence is also full of concentrated ingredients that provide anti-aging and boosts the overall complexion. In short adding essence to your skincare is very beneficial. I also want to mention, that I recently added essence to my skincare routine and I love it.

I love the luxe looking packaging of the Pond’s Age Miracle Ultimate Youth Essence. The red colored glass bottle stands out. The unique pump that is attached to the cap makes it look expensive. It is easy to use and is hygienic. It also reminds me of my Lancome Genifique bottle. I really miss that serum. But, I have seen this type of pump in many drugstore skincare lately. The opacity of the bottle keeps the ingredients safe from harsh light.

The texture and consistency of Pond’s Age Miracle Essence is light weight and has a little milky white color. It also has a mild fragrance, which is mild and lovely. It reminds me of their old winter moisturizers. The light watery consistency also absorbs quickly and feels like nothing. Just a few drops are needed for the whole face.

Pond’s essence is the third step in my skincare routine. I use a gentle yet effective cleanser, a calming and hydrating toner, essence, serum and a sleeping mask. I use it mostly at night, because before going to bed I like a few steps of skincare. My skin feels soft, bright and well hydrated in the morning. Sometimes when my skin needs a little boost, I just use Pond’s Age Miracle Ultimate Youth Essence and my skin feels nourished and plump. Since I have very oily skin a little essence or serum is enough for me during the day.

Overall, after using Pond’s essence for approximately 4 weeks, my fine lines around my eyes have reduced. I cannot give full credit to Pond’s essence as I use a lot of anti-aging skincare on a daily basis. I use my magnifying mirror to look closely, my pores are not that obvious, no dry patches or dark spots. The results are impressive. Besides it is very inexpensive. I also want to mention, you can use it on its own as a light moisturizer with some active ingredients, that is great for your skin. Besides a little goes a long way. I highly recommend trying this out. It is available at drugstores and Lazada.
