Hi! Today, I want to talk about one of my favorite nail art designs. Yes! Marble nails are trending and here is how to get the look. I am a big fan of marble nail designs. If you follow me on my Instagram, you may see a few marble nail art that I have shared. I am not a pro at creating marble nail designs but I am familiar with the technique and want to share it with you all.
The marble design is not only popular for flooring, kitchen and bathroom counters but also with bloggers as their background for their beautiful product photography. But today I want to talk about the marble nail art design that started gaining popularity last year and is still going strong. If like me you are a fan of marble nails, I want to share how to do marble nails at home and some marble nail art inspiration for your next manicure.
You will only need a fine tip brush liner brush, a few shades of regular nail polishes and a top coat. However, you can go for any color of your choice. You can also go for just two color marble nails. It all depends on the shades you choose. Besides nude base you can also go for white base or darker color base but the other shades must be light so they can pop on dark base. I hope you understand what I mean. 🙂
Step 1: Start by applying a thick coat of nude polish. It should actually be thick.
Step 2: When the polish is still wet add a few dots of contrasting colored polishes at random places on your nails.
Step 3: Take your fine liner brush and lightly try to mix the different colored dots by swiping the brush just little. However, don’t try to mix the colors too much. Let each shade have its space to pop in the mix of colors.
Step 4: Let it dry completely. It may take a little extra time to dry. However you can pull extra polish from the sides and tips of your nails and it will take off the excess.
Step 5: Apply a shiny top coat and you are done. 🙂
You can also follow another technique to do your marble nail art. Apply base coat, let it dry. Apply the second coat let it dry. Now take a small palette and dot the colors you want to use. Take a dotting tool to mix the colors on the palette itself. Then take a flat brush, scoop the mixed colors without too much of mixing and place it on your nails in light random strokes. Try to maintain the marble style look of the mixed polishes. Lastly, apply top coat.
It is very easy to do marble nails at home. It may take a few tries in the beginning. But I promise you will be able to do it. If I can, do it, you will definitely be able to do it. 🙂 You must not worry about the perfection of the design. Each nail will look different. The mix of colors look so pretty that the mistakes are never visible. Even when your nails start to chip it looks like a part of the design. 🙂
In this post I also want to share some marble nail art designs, for your inspiration.

I do love the marble nail look but as a gardener my nails are always in a dreadful state. I don’t think I could bear to create such a beautiful look which would be trashed almost immediately – I’ll just have to admire yours instead! 🙂
Thank you very much Lisa. 🙂
