Lisa Eldridge Velvet Jazz True Velvet Lip Color Review

Hi, Today I want to feature a beautiful red lipstick. And it is none other than Lisa Eldridge Velvet Jazz True Velvet Lip Color. When Lisa launched her true velvet collection, in December 2018, I missed it. Early morning, when I checked her website, all her lipsticks were sold out. It was a very sad moment for me. After that every one on all social media started posting pictures of her beautiful true velvet lipsticks. I had to wait for her next launch, and believe me it was a long wait. As soon as I received the notification about her Summer Pink Collection and re-stock of the Velvet Collection, I was ready to hit the buy button. And my lipstick addiction was satisfied. I just wanted to feature this beauty on my blog.

Product Description – A muted, earthy, brick red inspired by the 1930’s red lipsticks in my vintage collection. Saturated and highly pigmented lipstick with a beautiful, true velvet effect on the surface of the bullet which looks exactly like velvet fabric. The formulation is a creamy, hydrating matte with a slight sheen – it’s not a ‘flat’ matte. The colour is long wearing and non drying on the lips. This shade is something of a chameleon and ranges from an intense brown/red to a soft, brick red, depending on skin tone and method of application. It’s an incredibly glamorous shade, equally beautiful as a fully saturated ‘wow’ lip, as it is as a naturally flushed stain. My lipsticks are 100% cruelty free.

The packaging of the Lisa Eldridge Velvet Jazz True Velvet Lip Color is absolutely luxurious and perfect. It is a really nice experience to open her package. Her lipsticks are elegantly packed in tissue, and comes in a nice cardboard box. She has taken care of every details.

The modern looking metallic golden lipstick is beautiful. The matte metallic finish is gorgeous. It has that brushed metal effect, which will not catch any finger prints. It has a strong magnetic closure. The magnetic effect is so strong that the lipstick bullet repel each other when I tried to take pictures keeping them side by side. The Lisa Eldridge’s signature insignia engraved on the top is very elegant.

The velvet lipstick inside is innovative. She has worked hard to create this unique velvet like texture on the outer part of the lipstick bullet. It actually looks like a real velvet cloth, simply divine. Lisa explained that she created the velvet looking effect by using lipstick powder. It is just amazing. I needed this lipstick just for that velvet effect. I had never seen a lipstick like this ever. But now there are brands coming up with these kind of different effects on the bullet. You can take a look at my Dior lipsticks. I want to mention that my pictures don’t do justice to the beauty of Lisa Eldridge Velvet Jazz true velvet lip color.

Lisa Eldridge Velvet Jazz true velvet lip color is simply stunning. A beautiful deep dark brick red. Lisa describes this particular shade as a “chameleon” color, because it looks different on different skin tones. I took my time to use this lipstick. Didn’t want to ruin this beauty.

The finish is matte, however there is some shine to the lips. I like these kind of formula as they look more elegant and feel comfortable without drying the lips. Very creamy to apply. It glides on the lips smoothly and the shape of the bullet gives perfect application. It also has a smoothing effect. The velvety soft quality of this lipstick feels very plush on the lips. This is probably one of the best lipstick formulas, that I have tried. Very light weight and beautiful. It is also fragrance free.

The lasting power of this lipstick is fabulous. On me it is like 6-7 hours. Of course these are not transfer proof of like liquid lipsticks that do not budge. However, it stays on the lips without slipping or sliding. It also does not make my lips look dry after a few hours of wear time. But I have to do some touch up after having a nice meal. It also fades evenly, so you don’t actually have to worry about touch ups though.

Overall, Lisa Eldridge Velvet Jazz true velvet lip color is not just a lipstick but a complete luxurious experience. Right from opening the package to applying the lipsticks to the lips is just beautiful and artistic. Using this lipstick is pure joy. Like a true perfectionist, Lisa has meticulously planned out everything. I just can’t wait for her next launch as well as when she comes out with her full makeup line.
