Hi! Today, I want to share my experience on how to improve your skin in 2 weeks. It may sound like a click bait, but with a few simple steps and consistency, you can improve your current skin condition. If you really want your skin to be healthy and glowing in 2 weeks, just follow these minimalistic skincare routine. You just need to do some changes in your regular routine. Sometimes you may not realize the mistakes you are doing which in turn is doing damage to your skin. To reach your goal you must get rid of some bad habits and start taking good care of yourself. No procrastination is allowed in self-care.
Cleansing
Your skincare routine starts with cleansing your face at least twice daily and after sweating, with a gentle yet effective cleanser. Always double cleanse at night, this is one of the most important K-beauty ritual. Double cleansing will make sure that all the dirt, oil, bacteria and pollution are thoroughly washed away. First, cleanse with a cleansing oil or cleansing balm, this will help to get rid of all the makeup and dirt of the day. When all your makeup is dissolved, just wash your face. Then cleanse with a gel, foam or cream cleanser. Choosing the right cleanser for your skin type is also important. Gel cleansers are best for oily skin, cream cleansers are great for dry skin and foam cleansers for normal skin types.
Toning
Toning is another important step in your, how to improve your skin in 2 weeks ritual. Earlier toners were an extension to cleansing. The alcohol content in the toners made sure that all the remaining residue of makeup etc. got clean. But, now there are various kind of toners available that will help to clean and also improve your skin’s health. Using a toner will rebalance your skin’s pH level. It will also deep clean and tighten your pores. You must always look for an alcohol free toner. A light weight and hydrating toner is great for morning while an intense toner with active ingredients like hydroxy acids, will be best during night time.
Moisturization
Moisturization is the third important step in your journey on how to improve your skin in 2 weeks. Skin hydration is the key to youthful and healthy looking skin. It is very important to moisturize twice a day. And yes even oily skin people need to moisturize to keep your oils in control. You are reading that right. I used to ignore this fact and my skin used to be super oily because of that. When you apply moisturizer after cleansing and toning, your oily skin will be fooled and it will not create excess oil. However, oily skin people will need a light weight moisturizer that is gel based. While dry skin people need to use thicker richer creams especially at night. Using sleeping masks does wonders to your skin. But you need to choose according to your skin’s needs. There are anti aging sleeping masks as well as hydrating sleeping masks that you can try.
Sunscreen
Sun is the main culprit to aging. Always shield yourself from it. Whether you are indoors or outdoors keep your skin protected from the sun. Even on cloudy days the sun is doing its job, so beware. Using sunscreen with high SPF is very important and non negotiable. I know, the heavy feeling, the white cast and the greasiness of the sunscreen is such a drawback. But not any more. Today, there is a wide range of sunscreens available that are light weight and comfortable to wear even at the drugstore. Always apply sunscreen 30 minutes before leaving the house and wear a hat or carry an umbrella for that extra protection. Don’t forget your arms.
Exfoliation
Exfoliation is the key to bright and radiant complexion. Exfoliating your skin twice or thrice a week will do wonders. Remember not to over do it. There are two types of exfoliators available, physical exfoliators and chemical exfoliators. The physical exfoliators are the ones with gritty sand or bead like particles, that are used. The chemical exfoliators are enriched with AHAs and BHAs that gently dissolve the dead skin cells and deep clean the pores. Regular exfoliation will result in clear, smooth, bright and radiant skin. However, remember not to overdo. Start with twice a week and slowly make it thrice a week. Work according to the needs of your skin. Yes! once you start taking care of your skin you will understand what your skin’s needs are.
Facial Massage
Massaging your face on a regular basis has its own benefits. Always give yourself a mini facial by gently but firmly massaging your face in upward and outward direction, a little bit of steaming and masking. It can be done in 5-7 minutes. Facial massage will also boost lymphatic drainage, which in turn will remove toxins and reduce swelling of the skin. Regular or rather massaging your face daily for a couple of minutes will lift, firm and tighten your skin. You can always give yourself a 20-30 secs massage when you are simply washing your face with a cleanser. Using a massage tool like Gua-sha and the different ones that are available helps in facial massage. It will soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles as well.

Masking
Masking is another way to detoxify and clear your skin. Clay mask help remove excess oil and impurities from the pores. Since I have oily skin type I love using a good clay mask. There are numerous types of face masks available at the drugstore, that specifically target different skin concerns. Clay masks are great for all skin types but especially for oily acne prone skin. But always remember to moisturize after using a clay mask. Besides there are non-drying clay masks that are perfect for dry skin people. Using a face mask on a regular basis will definitely improve the texture and health of your skin.

Hydration
Hydration is a key to younger looking skin. Always make sure to keep your skin hydrated in and out. This includes using a sheet masks, sleeping masks and drinking plenty of water. One of the most important step in K-beauty skincare routine is hydration. Sleeping masks accelerates the process of cell renewal that occurs during sleep. You will wake up to a beautiful, glowing and radiant complexion.

Skincare is a very slow and continuous process. With regular skincare, you will see results. The more you take care of it the more beautiful you will be. Besides following this simple skincare routine, there are some important things we tend to ignore or forget. Wash your pillow covers regularly, eat healthy, drink lots of water for healthy gut, skin and kidneys, avoid too much salt and sugars, DO NOT TOUCH your face or pick at those pimples and blackheads, clean your makeup brushes regularly.
