Well! Yes! Nail Lacquer Again! 🙂 Nail polish was my first “makeup” item that I have ever used. Painting my nails, trying to learn and create henna (mehendi) designs, drawing, coloring, doing some artsy things was what I enjoyed as a little girl. My mum never wore makeup EVER but I used to watch her when she used to paint her nails, eventually I took over and started doing it for her and this still continues. It feels nice. I guess this is when my love affair with nail polishes began. All these fun activities were done during our vacations as our Convent school was strict and long nails or painted nails were never allowed.
Even today, in spite of lipstick becoming my favorite makeup item, nail polishes have a special place in my heart and in my makeup drawer. Every time I am shopping a nail polish comes along with me. I don’t know how that happens, wink-wink 😉 but it does. This is how the COLORBAR 24 Carat Nail Lacquers landed on my vanity and they want to display themselves on my blog.
As I have mentioned in my earlier post that I bought a few COLORBAR 24 Carat Nail Lacquers, I have 3 shades to share from this collection. First let me tell you about the packaging. These are regular square glass bottles with the golden cap. With the metallic shimmering nail lacquers inside, the overall packaging shines and looks appealing. Now, with that bar-code sticker on the cap they ruined the beautiful look of the bottles, as the sticker does not come out easily. I tried to pull it out while taking pictures and the gold coating of the lid was coming off too. So I had to stick it back as it was. I wish they would stick it on the bottle instead or use some good quality bar-code stickers to make it frustration free packaging.

The description sounds great – Beautiful shades of Gold, smooth, long-lasting, non-yellowing, chip-resistant and these are actually very good. There are 8 shades available in the 24 Carat Nail Lacquer Collection and I find the DUAL CHROME effect only in a few nail lacquers. There are multicolored shimmers in a few of them. But today I want to talk about the 3 shades that I own – 009 Brick Gold, 001 Liquid Gold and 004 Pinken Gold.
009 Brick Gold – Brick Gold is a glossy metallic orange-y brick shade. It has a pearly metallic shine. Nice shade but not unique in the collection. This type of shade has been around for a long time as it is beautiful and suits Indian skin. In comparison to other shades that I will be talking about this shade is a little more opaque in first coat. We need at least 3 coats to get the true color that we see in the bottle. It lasts a very long time almost 10 days without chipping, which is amazing. Since it dries fast, applying a few coats is not a problem. I hardly see any duo chrome effect in this shade.

001 Liquid Gold – Liquid Gold is a beautiful and unique golden shade with some pink, a few green and gold shimmers in it. These are not chunky glitters by any means. On application it has that smooth pearl finish to it and the colorful shimmers shine really beautifully when light hits.

Again the formula and the consistency of this polish is thin and requires at least 4 coats to get that perfect foil like finish to the nails. The shade Liquid Gold on the website is more like bronze gold shade but in reality it is more dirty/dusty/antique gold kind of a shade, which makes it unique.

004 Pinken Gold – Pinken Gold, as the name suggests, its a beautiful sparkly golden pink shade. It is a perfect everyday shade as well as a shade that will add some glitz and glamour to your nails.

The consistency of this polish is quite thin and the first coat doesn’t even show much of a color. Its almost translucent and streaky on first coat. It just adds some shine to the nails. We need 4 coats to get to that perfection we desire. Since it is a fast drying formula, I am okay with applying 4-5 coats.

Pinken Gold is the shade that has the most dual-chrome effect. I tried to capture it in the pictures. This is a pretty shade on Indian skin tone, of course all the shades are. I like this one the most. The lasting power of these nail lacquers are great. I have worn each and every shade that I own for at least 10 days without chipping.

Overall I am currently enjoying the COLORBAR 24 Carat Nail Lacquers. This luxurious range of Golds is beautiful for Indian skin tone and will suit all complexions. These will look stunning on the nails for the festive season when we are dressed up in the colorful Indian attire or some glitzy party dresses. These nail lacquers can match up to the current metallic lip trend that is so in right now. We can add these metallic polishes to spice up our look by coordinating the lips and nails. I highly suggest the dual chrome effects ones to the others in the Gold Collection. Of course all the shades are pretty which ever you choose. The bonus is that these nail lacquers are not available at half the price which is great.

Yes the duo chrome looks and shines a lot. Its pretty.
All three shades look amazing. But I loved Pinken Gold the most from your collection. I have never tried metallic shades. Since I tend to keep my nails really short, I have never really had the chance to sport metallic shades.
Yes Pinken Gold has the most duo chrome effect to it. I always keep my nails long and if they are short I feel odd. But you can try on your short nails as well it will look pretty 🙂
