Hi! Say hello to Innisfree Jeju cherry blossom tone up cream. I am on a spree to trying and reviewing new K-beauty skincare. I ordered this cream thinking it is something that will help with improving my skin tone over time, but it turns out that it is mainly a combination of skincare and makeup. But it works best to improve skin tone instantly. If you are interested as to how I feel about this cream, please keep reading and watch the short video, where I share some closeup shots of the texture and performance of the cream.
What is tone up cream?
The term “tone-up cream” specifically refers to a beauty product that can visibly alter the skin’s tone. It is a specialized cream designed to enhance the clarity and balance of the skin. Its primary function is to brighten and even out the complexion. It effectively reduces the appearance of various skin concerns such as acne marks, hyperpigmentation, and freckles. Additionally, tone-up creams provide an instant brightening effect, combating the appearance of dull, tired-looking skin. Although it’s important to note that it is not intended to be used as a moisturizer, despite its name containing the word “cream.”
These creams are usually white or pink in color. Its application depends on how bright you want your skin to look. However, if you have a deeper skin tone, you must apply as little as possible. Because these creams do have a little amount of white cast. The formula works as a makeup base, as it blurs pores and provides a smooth base for the foundation. It is mostly applied after your skincare, sunscreen and just before your foundation.

Product Description
A lightweight cream formulated with Jeju Cherry Blossom leaf extracts and naturally-derived Betaine which leaves you with a natural, glowing finish after application.
Packaging
I like the pretty pink packaging. It comes in a pink plastic jar with a greyish white twist up cap. All the details are printed on the packaging. It looks pretty and Insta-worthy. However, it does not come with a spatula.
Main Ingredients
The Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom tone up cream is formulated with cherry blossom leaf extract, which is known to clear and brighten the complexion. It also includes Betaine that is extracted from sugar beet that provides hydration and moisture to the skin. Another star ingredient is Niacinamide, to provide some brightening effects. Along with Glycerin, Vitamin E, Soyabean oil, Dimethicone that are emollient ingredients that will help to keep the skin well hydrated all day. There is some white pigment to the cream thanks to Titanium Dioxide. Titanium dioxide is mostly seen in sunscreens. However, even though this cream contains titanium dioxide, it does not have any UV filters. It also has a lovely fresh fruity floral scent.
Texture & Consistency
First of all Innisfree Jeju cherry blossom tone up cream is light pink in color. It looks pretty. As you can see in the short video below, it looks light weight and watery in texture, which I like. The texture is light enough that it applies evenly all over the face. It also feels moisturizing. However, after application there is a light white cast left behind. It is basically to help instantly even out the skin tone. That’s what tone up creams do. But I had no idea about it, when I first ordered this cream.
Application & My Experience
A little goes a long way with tone up creams. You only need a pea size amount of the cream for the whole face. But, you need to blend this cream instantly. It also take time for the cream to absorb completely. After application, my skin looks brighter and dewy but not greasy. However, my skin felt tight, tight as in when we use some drying soap and wipe our face, there is that feeling of tightness due to dryness. But, this cream did not make my skin feel dry, just tight. I hope that makes sense. But after using it for a few days, I got used to that feeling and it did not bother me. It also creates a slightest white cast, but nothing that obvious. I made sure of that by looking in my magnifying mirror and all looked fine.
This cream works great under makeup. I tried using my L’Oreal foundation and it worked perfectly well. My skin looked flawless, and I love it. Since, I don’t wear makeup on a regular basis, I like to use this cream for a little bit of brightness and to even out my skin tone. I like how my skin looks after applying this cream. So it is great for me to just apply my sunscreen and layer this cream for some brightness and dewy looking complexion. Besides, I did not experience any irritation or any breakout on my skin.
Final Thoughts
Overall, in spite of not knowing what a tone up cream does, I am happy using this cream. It is lovely to use when I want to give instant boost to my skin when it is looking dull and tired. It is a great day cream especially during summer time, when you don’t feel like wearing makeup. However, you need to do your regular skincare and then apply this cream as the last step, before your makeup. I also want to mention that it is not a night cream. You must not use it at night. Remember to wear your sunscreen every single day. This is the first time I have tried a tone-up cream and I am loving it. Have you tried any tone-up product? This cream was sent to me by JOLSE Cosmetics with no obligation to post. But I enjoyed using this cream, hence wanted to share. You can order online from them as they delivery globally. They also have many offers and deals going on. Check it out.
Until, next time stay safe and beautiful! 🙂

I haven’t heard of a tone-up cream before, but I would assume it was a moisturizer, so that’s good to know it’s meant to be used after your skincare routine. It does sound like a good cream though with a lot of great benefits!
